Walk towards 10,000 steps (5 miles) a day while consulting with your doctor. We recognize the benefits of movement for our physical health, although it can be challenging to find time in the day. Every small step counts, so consider shifting from an “office visit” to talk through concerns, to a “walk & talk session” to get blood flowing for both for physical health & to generate creative ideas!
The body-mind-spirit connection reminds us that change (movement) in one area, stimulates movement in others. Conversely, staying stuck in one area makes it difficult to create change in other parts of our lives. Each of these wellness programs is designed to support change at your pace, in whatever aspect of your life you are ready to pay more attention to. All of it matters. All of it makes a difference.
“The creative, transformative dance between attachment and detachment is sometimes called the Third Way… We stand in the middle, neither taking the world on from another power position nor denying it for fear of the pain it will bring. We hold the hardness of reality and the suffering of the world until it transforms us … in that third spacious way, neither directly fighting nor fleeing, we are in a place of grace … where creativity and new forms of life and healing emerge. ” –Richard Rohr
Change is inevitable. Change is difficult. Change is the only path towards growth. So the question is – what are we growing towards? When we are grounded in our True Self, then we grow into the fullness of who we are meant to become within the world.
“The Lord will give you the bread you need and the water for which you thirst. No longer will your Teacher hide himself, but with your own eyes you shall see you Teacher. While from behind, a voice shall sound in your ears: “This is the way; walk in it,” when you would turn to the right or to the left.” Isaiah 30: 20-21
Let’s walk together and explore … body, mind, spirit.
